Rukus – “Spending My Ego” feat eLDee + “Tonight” feat Simi [prod by Kuebounce]

Rukus has already been widely regarded as one of the best lyricists in Nigeria since his signing with Trybe Records.  However, his latest single “Spending My Ego” catches him teaming up with Trybe Records CEO, eLDee, to create one of the most infectious club tracks of the summer.  Rukus flaunts his versatility as his flow glides effortlessly over the Kuebounce produced track while eLDee provides a catchy chorus and adds onto his legend status with another stellar feature verse.

The club-infused “Spending My Ego” is new territory for Rukus who has already established a reputation as having some of the most potent punchlines and conscious lyrics in Nigeria’s hip-hop scene; however, diehard Rukus fans will be pleased to see that his lyrical side shines through on his 2nd release which features the airy crooning of the uniquely gifted songstress Simi over another skillfully crafted beat by Trybe in-house producer extraordinaire Kuebounce.  The two team up to highlight the difficulties of a high-profile relationship in the smooth pop-smash “Tonight”.  Simi handles chorus duties, while Rukus raps about the pressures of stardom on a relationship where he has to leave his girl at home.

Both songs are off Rukus’ soon-to-be released album as he prepares to release even more music before the summer ends.

RUKUS featuring eLDee – ATM

While on tour in the US, Trybe Records’ lyricist Rukus teamed up in an Atlanta studio with eLDee to produce the hip-hop infused “ATM”. Assisted with the production of Trybe in-house producer Kuebounce, eLDee mans the hook as Rukus goes in lyrically on his place in the rap game. The song serves as an appetizer of sorts before Rukus releases his latest singles later in the week.

Afro-soul fans can rest easy as Aramide returns, this time with visuals to her debut single, the fan favorite, “Its Over”. A blend of traditional ballet and “free dance” accompany the haunting vocals as the video follows Aramide’s story of being underappreciated by her original love, Bolaji, before realizing the need to move on. Fans will enjoy seeing a sexy and sassy Aramide, as the piano driven chorus allows the talented songstress to leave behind her guitar and belt out the words that many a woman scorned can’t wait to say to their significant other: “It’s Over”.

With her new singles already recorded and a growing following, the sultry voiced Trybe Records star is putting the finishing touches on her debut album.
